Promotions are periodic increases to game multipliers. They generally run for 24 hours at a time and provide a free boost for their duration. You may spend gems to permanently acquire that rank of the promotion multiplier. There are multiple tiers that can be purchased. If you already own the x2 multiplier, the promotion will be triple (x3) for you during the promotion period.
A premium multiplier is attached to each promotion. By default, everyone has a premium multiplier of x1 for each multiplier type. This x1 premium multiplier is not visible in any of the multiplier summary popups. During a promotion, that promotion's premium multiplier is increased by 1 and it will be visible as a separate line item in the multiplier summary popup. While a promotional event is running, this multiplier is labeled as "Event multiplier". Other times, it will be labeled as "Your Premium Bonus."
